Intraderamal pigmentation is an innovative way of placing or replacing color in the skin. It is usually known as permanent makeup or permanent cosmetics or sometimes called medical tattooing. Intradermal pigmentation allows you to wake up with perfectly defined lips, beautiful brows and expressive eyes. It can enhance your overall appearance by giving your skin and facial features more color and definition. What procedures are available?
Intradermal pigmentation can mimic the appearance of hair in the brow line. If you desire more fullness of the eyebrow or if you have experienced loss of all or some of your eyebrows, or if you simply are tired of applying eyebrows daily, you will love this time-saving brow enhancement procedure.
A subtle, natural look that mimics thousands of tiny eyelashes with the implantation of pigments in the lash line is popular with both male and female clients. Additional shadowing of color can be added for a soft line or for the more daring, a bold definite line can be achieved. Opthalmologists recommend intradermal cosmetic procedures for those who are allergic to conventional makeup and for those who wear contacts.
The intradermal pigmentation procedure adds beautiful color to the lips. It can appear to change the size and shape of the lips as well as the color. This procedure also helps to prevent lipstick from bleeding into the surrounding skin. A soft pink similar to the color of a newborn's lips is available for a more natural look, or bolder and more daring color is available for the adventurous.Frequently Asked Questions Is it painful? Topical anesthetics are used to minimize or eliminate discomfort. How do I know what color to choose? Much time is spent during the consult prior to the procedure to determine the best color choice for you. A wide variety of colors are available along with experienced, professional assistance. How long does the procedure take? You should allow approximately two hours for each procedure. Care is taken to obtain the desired results for each procedure. Your continuous feedback during the procedure is important to achieve the effect that you desire. What is the recovery time? There will be slight swelling and redness in the skin, which usually subsides quickly. You may resume normal activities immediately after the procedure, but it is suggested that you not make social plans for a day or so. Complete healing takes one to six weeks while the pigmentation matures and reaches its final color. Is there any danger of serious blood infections from the procedure? All instruments (needles) have been properly sterilized and there is no danger of any blood borne infections. Verbal and written aftercare instructions are given following the procedure to insure that any risk of infection is minimized. Is the pigmentation really permanent? With proper aftercare, you can expect that the pigment should last anywhere from three to ten years before needing a "touch up." There are a number of variables that will determine the life expectancy of the pigments, which is covered in the aftercare instructions. What, if any, are the risks involved in the procedure? The risks and benefits of the intradermal pigmentation will be thoroughly discussed with you during your personal consult. How will I know if I'm not allergic to the pigments? During the personal consultation, a simple allergy test will be performed to determine sensitivity. What if some of the pigment doesn't take or I decide that it's just not quite the look I'm after? Each client is offered one complimentary touch-up following the procedure to take care of minor problems. The touch-up must not be done for 8 weeks following the procedure, but must be completed by 6 months to remain complimentary. How much do the different procedures cost? Our rates are very competitive in the Cincinnati area adn range from $400 to $600 per procedure. Special rates may be available, so please call the office for current pricing.
